Eric is a landscape designer with an expertise in ecological and landscape resilience in urban areas. His professional experience encompasses a wide array of projects spanning many scales and regions, highlighted by a focus on work in the public sector working as a part of large and multidisciplinary design teams. Eric received his Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota where his graduate capstone project received the Capstone of the Year Award. Eric has worked collaboratively to reimagine the role of community empowerment in the coastal resiliency planning movement. Through multi-layered and detailed analysis, his work reframes contemporary urban climate change issues through the lens of ecological and community resilience, and capitalizes on the momentum of existing social resiliency initiatives within communities to inspire innovative, yet contextually integrated solutions. He believes truly empowered and long term community resilience strategies require architectural, ecological and infrastructural solutions that are intimately entwined with softer resiliency aspects of equity, justice, social cohesion, and health.
