Claire Latané is a writer, community advocate, and ecological designer. She leverages communication strategies to make our communities healthier through education, participatory design, and design with nature. Her writing on the benefits of ecological design has appeared in Landscape Architecture Magazine, the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) Case Study Investigation series, and the Los Angeles Times. Claire’s design work focuses on greening schoolyards, restoring riparian ecosystems, and promoting equitable access to humane urban environments and nature. In 2017, she was selected as one of four Fellows for the inaugural year of the LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership to push school district policy towards prioritizing access to nature and its benefits to mental restoration, physical health, and educational outcomes.
