Mio Watanabe is a Founder and CEO of Mio Watanabe Design Office, LLC., based in Tokyo Japan.　Prior to establishing the company, Mio worked for Nihon Sekkei, inc. as a Landscape Architect, SOM in New York Office, as an Architectural Professional, and SWA Group in Los Angeles as a Landscape Designer.
Educated in both architecture and landscape architecture, Mio brings attention to design creativity, detailing and construction implementation. Her work is mainly contemporary design across a variety of project types and scales.
Mio earned her Master of Landscape Architecture degree and Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a registered landscape architect and urban designer and a lecturer of Kyoto University of Art and Design.
