Theo Thwing is a registered Landscape Architect in State College, Pennsylvania. Theo received a Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology, and Society (STS) from Lehigh University in 2005 and a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Penn State University in 2012. While at Penn State, Theo worked as a research assistant at the Hamer Center for Community Design and as a teaching assistant for design and writing intensive landscape theory courses. His research interests at Penn State focused on green infrastructure for postindustrial landscapes. Prior to attending Penn State’s MLA program, Theo performed and recorded Music in the Tri-State Area of PA/NY/NJ. He also worked at Michael Graves Design Group in Princeton, NJ, as a model maker, where he created prototypes for products sold at Target, as well as architectural and city planning models presented around the world. His first job out of undergraduate college, was as a sculptural fabricator at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, where he produced large scale sculptures for contemporary artists throughout the United States. After graduation Theo worked as a landscape architect at an architecture firm for more than a decade, and later created his own landscape architectural consulting firm called LASTS, LLC (Landscape Architecture Science Technology and Society).
